It's become a cliche...the lonely writer typing away at a story on a manual typewriter with a bottle of whiskey by his side. Of course, it's been my experience that a lot of writers are heavy drinkers. I'm not sure why that is...the lack of socializing, the lack of regular cash coming in, the constant rejection, the constant success. Seems there's always a reason to have "just one" or "Just one more."
