The myth of Sisyphus was intended to teach humans a lesson when the Greeks wrote it thousands of years ago. In other words, don't piss off the Gods. But many centuries later, the existentialist writer, Camus, interpreted the meaning of the story as man's struggle at futilely attempting to achieve impossible goals. Thus, the futility of life. I see writing as pushing the boulder up the hill, only to have it slip away, run you over, and yet you begin the same struggle the next morning. What's even stranger (no pun), is that I love doing it.
