So, we're seriously thinking of making a short film, "Albany Noir." Albany is a corrupt city. That's no secret. It's been run with an iron fist by the Democratic Machine for decades and the blood that's been spilled because of it can paint the entire state. Legs Diamond was killed here. Don Westlake grew up here. Even Martha Gellhorn, Ernest Hemingway's Fourth wife was on the Times Union Crime Beat back in the 1920s. I guess I'm a small part of the city's noir history having won and the Thriller Award and Shamus Award, plus being the author to 125-plus stories, novellas, and novels. There's no end to the crime material you can gather in Albany. For me, that's a part of the attraction.
