I drove into Washington Park, and I pulled around the back of an old lakeside boathouse. Meanwhile, Scully made the call and, by all appearances, convinced Dr. Cutler to hold onto the boy. She even convinced him to place a security detail on the room for a full twenty-four hours. The room would be so secure not even Jesus could get in without the proper authorization, much less a secret, autonomous faction of the FBI.

“Think we can trust him, Scully? Trust him not to cave if the suited men come back tonight?”

“He’s a medical doctor, and I’m guessing a good one. Look how upset he was with our presence in Jimmy’s room. Upset at the media’s presence.”

“Let’s just hope he doesn’t get shot over this.”
