Paradox Lake: Chapter 13

Jumping the curb, I drove up on the sidewalk, sped out of the lot, and drove back up the hill past my apartment building. I didn’t even consider going there. Instead, I drove in the direction of my ex’s neighborhood. When I came to Orchard Grove, I hooked a left and then made another quick left onto her driveway since theirs was the second house in. I threw the Jeep in park and left the engine running while I opened the door and sprinted towards the front door.
Not only did I ring the doorbell, but I pounded on the door with my fist.
“Diane!” I shouted into the door. “Diane, open up!”
