The sirens were too loud, too close for comfort. I got back into the Jeep and closed the door. That’s when the wail of sirens grew more intense. The cop cars had to be less than one hundred feet away.
“Holy shit,” I whispered to myself. “They see me parked here I’m as good as dead.”
