Don't Wait for The Publishers
Make them wait on you.
A new article is Publishers Weekly points out ten things writers should be aware of when submitting their manuscripts to traditional query-and-wait publishers in 2021.
I plan on commenting on each item here, individually.
The first item states that never before have so many manuscripts been being read by so few publishers.
D’uh, most publishers are going belly up or being eaten up by larger conglomerates.
But the author of the article states that you should grab a Snickers Bar and prepare for a long, long wait.
My advice? Get your manuscripts out to readers immediately. Then write another and another and another, and get them out.
Readers don’t care what publishing house is represented on the spine.
Wait? Who you telling to wait? I wait for no one. I’m a professional after all.
